My child has prescription medications. What do I need to know?
For summer camps, all medications must be turned into the camp nurse when you arrive for registration. All medications must be in the name of the person taking them and must be in the original prescription bottle. We cannot accept loose pills or pills placed into pill boxes/dispensers. By law, all medications MUST be dispensed by the camp nurse, including over-the-counter medications. The nurse will only dispense over-the-counter medications provided by the camp. The summer camp nurse will be available at regular, scheduled times to dispense medications and will be available in case of emergencies. ALL MEDICATIONS and ALLERGIES should be listed in the medical release form for each camper and sponsor.
Do you have a concession stand or gift shop?
We do have both a concession stand and gift shop that are open regularly during each of our summer camps. Items in the concession stand range from $0.50 to $4.00. Most Items in the Gift Shop range from $0.50 to $40.00, with Alto Frio t-shirts priced between $20.00 and $30.00. Alto Frio accepts both cash and cards.
What should I NOT pack for camp?
Obviously, we ask that no one bring alcohol, tobacco, or drugs of any kind. We also ask that you do not bring clothing with vulgar, profane, or offensive messages. Ideally, we also recommend that you leave electronics at home.
What paperwork do I need to do for camp?
Every sponsor and camper will need: 1) a medical release form, 2) a challenge course form, 3) any other form required by your specific camp (please contact camp director for more information). Every sponsor is required to 1) complete the Child Protective Training and 2) pass a background check and sex-offender check (conducted by the church). You can find all of the required forms and instructions by clicking here.
Will I have cell phone service?
AT&T is the only cell phone provider with service at Alto Frio. AT&T's service is only reliable in certain places on campus.
Is there Wi-Fi?
Alto Frio does provide Wi-Fi for essential functions for our camps and events, but we do not have enough bandwidth to provide Wi-Fi to all of our guests. Wi-Fi login information is provided to the camp or event director for distribution at the director's discretion. However, due to our limited bandwidth, Alto Frio reserves the right to turn off Wi-Fi if our core business functions are impaired by misuse or overuse.
